These are tough times for everyone in the world because of the coronavirus pandemic and because of the consequent lock down due to it. During these tough times it can sometimes feel hard to smile, laugh and enjoy one self.

However, initiatives taken by BTS mean that it is much easier to see the sunshine during these dark and gloomy days. Their online concert a few weeks ago, their plans to release a new album, SUGA releasing “Eight” in collaboration with IU, the soon to be released documentary-series, more frequent social media appearances and the graduation speech they are due to deliver next month means that the sun shines a lot brighter and the grass is a lot greener.

Each of the aforementioned developments have added an extra level of happiness to the lives of millions of ARMYs (BTS fans). The fact that BTS will be appearing on the same online platform as President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga and Malala Yousafzai gave me goose bumps because of the sheer excitement. And, I can definitely assure you that millions of co-ARMYs most probably feel the same way.

But it isn’t just the events or new releases themselves that are exciting, it’s also the process of waiting; waiting for something amazing and unique. Waiting for BTS related updates is an absolute joy, a pleasure worth cherishing. It makes me feel part of a bigger community of like-minded people, it reinforces the idea that we are together no matter where we are from or who we are.

Seeing millions of other fans get happy and excited at BTS related updates creates a special sensation and an unforgettable moment. It almost feels like I am at a music concert with thousands of other people listening to BTS because there is a sense of everything happening simultaneously regardless of the differing time zones that tens-of-millions of BTS fans live in around the world.

BTS’s efforts have also made Twitter and Instagram a much better place to be right now. Normally, I would never spend so much time on either of those two social media platforms. But, the persistently positive energy from BTS and other ARMYs means that it is my go-to-place to socialise right now.

All of these examples illustrate how much all seven members of BTS care about their fans, about their fandom. This is the sort of vibe that I have never experience from any other artists or band.

For all of this and much more, I – and, many millions of other ARMYs – are incredibly thankful to BTS as well as BigHit Entertainment for making every minute, every hour and every day spent in lock down much more entertaining. Thank you.
