Sons of Pakistan’s longest serving former Interior Minister, (late) Mr. Rehman Malik, celebrated the country’s 76th year of Independence with young people who have suffered “due to terrorism and extremist violence”.

In a social media post, Mr. Ali Rehman Malik stated that he and his brother celebrated “Independence Day with the brave young guys from Zainabya”.

Mr. Ali Rehman Malik, in his social media post, further stated that the young people from Zainabya “need our support as they try and start their new lives. Looking towards to a more harmonious future”.

Meanwhile, Mr. Umar Rehman Malik also tweeted about the Independence Day celebrations he and his brother organised at the Zainabya school.

Reflecting on the event itself and on Pakistan’s Independence Day, he stated that he “celebrated #HappyIndependenceDay with brave young boys, who have lost their families to terrorism”.

This is the latest example that both individuals are following in the footsteps of their (late) honourable father, Senator Rehman Malik, when it comes to selflessness, public duty and giving back to the country. This is a sentiment that is shared by the public.

An individual, for instance, on social media – whilst replying to Mr. Ali Rehman Malik’s social media post – said “you’re doing a great job like your late father”.
