Journalist, author and playwright Tim Walker has demanded that Keir Starmer should be honest about the impact and effects of Brexit (the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union).
In a viral tweet that has been shared more than 4,000 times, the former Telegraph journalist said: “Please retweet if you want @Keir_Starmer to be honest about Brexit.”
The aforementioned tweet was accompanied with a screenshot of a story reporting that the “UK public blames Brexit for higher food prices”.
In a separate tweet, Tim Walker took a swipe at the Labour leader’s position on Brexit by quote-tweeting his social media post with a laughing emoji.
Critics, however, say that there for more pressing concerns – such as the cost of living crisis, housing crisis and the high crime rate – to be solved prior to focusing all political energy on Brexit again.
It remains to be seen whether Keir Starmer will change his position on Brexit and the European Union.
