Pakistanis pay tribute to late Senator Rehman Malik on his Birthday anniversary

Pakistan’s longest serving Interior Minister, Senator Rehman Malik who died earlier this year due to covid complications, would have have been 71 years old today, according to his two sons on social media.

Therefore, Pakistanis from all around the world, especially those that knew him very well, are paying their tributes on the late Interior Minister’s birthday anniversary.

Ali Rehman Malik – barrister, Chairman of the Institute of Research and Reform, and the eldest son of Senator Rehman Malik – paid tribute to his father by writing “It would have been my father’s birthday today. The first one since he left us. We always used to celebrate together as mine is tomorrow. It’s a very difficult day.”

Meanwhile, Umar Rehman Malik – former Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Finance at the Government of Sindh and Senator Rehman Malik’s younger son wrote “My father @SenRehmanMalik’s first birthday since he left us. It’s a very hard day. All are requested to pray for him.”

In response to these two social media posts by the former Interior Minister’s sons, social media users from all around the world have been sharing their favourite pictures and memories of Senator Rehman Malik.

One social media user, for instance, posted a picture of the late Senator with President Asif Ali Zardari. Other social media users, in the meantime, offered their prayers and condolences to his two sons.

One of the most prominent figures who have tweeted their respects and tribute include Husain Haqqani, Pakistan’s former ambassador to the United States of America from 2008 to 2011. The former ambassador tweeted: “God bless his soul and God bless you.”
