In a show of strength and unity, people from all over the country arrived in London to protest against Brexit. The protesters at the demonstration displayed placards calling for the revocation of Article 50, demands for a second referendum and demonstrators also held posters decrying Boris Johnson’s looming premiership.

The protest, which became know as “March for Change”, was one of the most trending topics on social media sites in the UK. On Twitter, for example, “#MarchforChange” was the most trending topic at midday on Saturday.

People used the above hashtag to share pictures of their journeys to the protest and pictures of themselves at the protest. Some people shared pictures of themselves travelling from Lancashire, Yorkshire and from many other places as well.

Ed Davey MP, a leadership contender for the Liberal Democrat’s leadership contest, also attended the march.

While commenting on the huge turnout, Guy Verhofstadt MEP tweeted: “Great to see so many Liberal voices standing up for a European future in London today!”

Seb Dance MEP also expressed his delight at the huge turnout by stating that it was a “Great turnout at #MarchForChange”.
