Protesters in central London attempted to block Boris Johnson from reaching Buckingham Palace. The protesters were climate change activists who want the new administration to act on the “Climate Emergency”.

According to Greenpeace UK, which took responsibility for the protest, the aim of the blockade was to “hand the the incoming PM a crucial letter”.

The letter contained policy proposals on how to tackle climate change. In a tweet, Greenpeace UK stated that “it contains the answers to tackling the Climate Emergency”.

In the same tweet, the UK branch of Greenpeace called on people to sign their petition. The purpose of the “petition is to demand #ClimateAction”.

Meanwhile, three other protesters displayed a red, horizontal poster with the words “Climate Emergency”.

The scenes of the blockade became incredibly viral on both the main stream media and online on social media platforms.

However, police officers moved in quickly to remove the climate change protesters off the streets.

Many people applauded the climate change activists for their noble efforts.
