Gina Miller – a prominent campaigner, businesswoman and author – has written a letter to Labour and the Liberal Democrats, asking them to stand aside in Epsom and Ewell where Chris Grayling, the former Secretary of State for Transport, has been the Member of Parliament since 2001 and currently enjoys a comfortable majority of 17,873 votes.

Gina Miller’s request follows her recent announcement that she is going to stand in Chris Grayling MP’s constituency at the next General Election. Her intention to stand in Epsom and Ewell came less than two weeks ago at a packed venue in Central London, where the former campaigner also introduced eight fellow candidates on behalf of the True & Fair Party.

When announcing her candidacy at the beginning of last week, Mrs Miller commented: “Failing Grayling should stand down at the next general election. If he does not, I will work relentlessly to make sure this dreadful epitome of a dozen years of narcissistic and incompetent Conservative rule loses the seat.”

Mrs Miller is best known for her two successful court cases against the governments of former Prime Minister Theresa May and Boris Johnson. Most recently, Gina Miller founded the True & Fair Party, which launched in January of this year at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster.

In her correspondence to Labour and the Liberal Democrats, the True & Fair Party’s leader writes: The most logical way to defeat Mr Grayling is for Labour and the Liberal Democrats to stand aside, allowing one candidate a straight run at the seat. This is my request today. I will also ask the Green Party, which has taken on Grayling – and lost – four times, to not field a candidate.

“Although True & Fair is politically distinct from Labour and the Liberal Democrats, we are not looking to split the vote in Conservative-held seats that your parties can realistically win”, says the True & Fair Party’s leader.

Gina’s letter to the main two opposition parties in England and Wales has been received positively on social media. One social media user, for instance, stated: “Hopefully the two Knights and their party management will recognise the benefits of having such a force for much needed change at Westminster, Gina.” Another social media user adds: “Good luck. You are a complete hero of mine…”.
