It’s the year 2020 and Pakistan’s passport is still one of the world’s worst, according to the word-renowned and reliable Henley Passport Index. The report has listed the country’s passport as the fourth worst passport, in joint place with Somalia.

In total there are 107 positions on the ranking. Both Pakistan and Somalia have been ranked 104th, which has been the case for Pakistan since 2018.

The only three countries that come after Pakistan in the 2020 ranking are: Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. It is noteworthy to mention that these three countries have in the past or still are experiencing widespread civil unrest and war.

This ranking is based on the number of countries that a given passport holder can travel to ‘without a prior visa’, according to the website of Henley Passport Index.

Hence, Pakistan’s passport has been ranked as one of the worst precisely because people with this passport can only travel to 32 destinations without needing a visa in advance.

Meanwhile, India’s passport has been ranked 84th because its holders can travel to 58 places without a visa in advance.
