Hana Irene, a London-based singer and songwriter, is due to release her much awaited music album – titled Space Station 98 – on Friday, 17 March 2023 – and her fans simply can’t wait!

Her previous songs, such as Stars In His Eyes and Atmosphere, have gained a lot of prominence in North America and South East Asia after famous social media stars, including @itsgurnaz and @itsmominaayub, shared her songs on Instagram.

The soon to be released music album includes seven songs in total and the themes are based on the ‘space-age of the 1960s as well as the reality of a post-pandemic world with its lasting socio-cultural impact’, according to the singer and songwriter.

In a statement to the press, Hana Irene said: “Space Station 98 includes both instrumental tracks and lyrical tracks to tell the story of two lovers who travel into space where they discover more about their feelings for each other and realise the magic of the universe.”

The singer, in a statement to journalists, further stated that the album “explores the idea of love, distance and time which are themes notoriously interlinked with the backdrop of space as a constant reminder that we are all a very small part of a much larger solar system and yet, we all have universal longings, questions and emotions.”

Hana Irene, in an exclusive comment to NewsLeaf.com, also spoke about why as an artist she decided to take inspiration from space related themes, and the process and effort involved in producing an album.

“I’ve always been fascinated by outer-space and the idea of being human with our individual complexities but also universal longings. I produced my 7-track LP over the last two years intermittently whenever I felt creative.

“For me, it had to be a natural process and I was keen to include some purely instrumental tracks too as they act as a musical frame to my story of nostalgia, escapism and love with an intergalactic backdrop. I really hope everyone likes the album and connects with it. I’m really happy with how my singles, Atmosphere and Stars In His Eyes have done on Spotify so I’m curious to see what else can happen!”, said Hana Irene in an exclusive comment to NewsLeaf.com.

In response to Hana Irene’s announcement, many social media users on Twitter and Instagram expressed their enthusiasm and well-wishes about the soon to be released music album. Tim Walker – a journalist, playwright and media strategist – for instance, tweeted his well-wishes by saying “Good luck with it!”
