Ramadan is the holiest month for Muslims all over the world. It’s a month of fasting, prayer, devotion, selflessness and charity.

The selfless and charitable nature and characteristics of the holy month of Ramadan are best exemplified by the young people of Karachi, Pakistan’s economic hub and most populous city.

A number of young people, including Hasnain Haider and Romail Moiz as well as many others, fundraised money to distribute free meals at Iftar time in Karachi’s popular town of North Nazimabad.

Because of the successful fundraising on social media and the support of the wider community, this heartwarming and charitable initiative is providing free meals to hundreds of people every day for the whole month of Ramadan.

The purpose of this article was to highlight the positive side of Pakistan and its hardworking young people. It’s far too often the case that the media only reports the negative aspects.

But this should change as there are many great initiatives happening in Karachi as well as all over the country.

Also, such selfless acts should be highlighted more and more so that the public can support them even further in providing free meals at Iftar time to hundreds if not thousands of people.
