Gina Miller, in her party political broadcast, said that it is time to admit that “Brexit has been a major economic and political disaster for the United Kingdom”.
Her remarks have come on the seventh anniversary of the Brexit referendum, which Brexiteers are celebrating as an independence day from the European Union.
Gina Miller, a campaigner who is most known for her two successful court cases against the governments of Prime Minister Theresa May and Prime Minister Boris Johnson, also remarked that “it is time to start the process of re-establishing our membership of the European Union”.
Her remarks were broadcast in a video posted on the True and Fair Party‘s social media accounts, a Party which Miller set up in January, 2022 – and of which she is the leader of.
The True and Fair Party currently only has a few candidates with Gina Miller herself standing in Epsom and Ewell against Chris Grayling at the next General Election.
Critics, however, argue that there are more pressing challenges that need to be dealt with – such as the cost of living crisis and the housing crisis – before re-focusing political energy and discourse on Brexit and the European Union again.
