The world wide famous K-POP group, BTS, has managed to claim a spot in the Billboard Staff’s “100 Best Songs of 2019“. This list was formulated based on a number of factors.

Some of the songs that were included on the list “were released or peaked on the Billboard charts this year”. The songs that were included in the top 100 list were also based on “a mix of cultural events, personal favorites and everything else that tattooed itself inside” the brains of Billboard staff “in the last 12 months”.

On the list, BTS were ranked 37th for their song “Boy with Luv” ft. Halsey. Explaining their decision to include BTS on the list, they wrote: “The song put BTS in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time, but doubtless not the last, as millions of American kids are now completely smitten with the group from half a world away”.

Another K-POP group which made into the top 100 is BLACKPINK, who were ranked 66th for their song “Kill this Love”.

This means that BTS and BLACKPINK are the only two K-POP bands featured in Billboard’s top “100 Best Songs of 2019”.

The fandoms of both groups have welcomed this jubilant news.

While reacting to BTS’ most recent achievement, Momina Ayub, a prominent Pakistani fan of BTS told me: “As an ARMY, I couldn’t be happier for them. They’ve worked so hard for all of this and there’s, without any doubt, no one else more worthy of this much recognition and love as BTS”.

Many other BTS fans were also happy at their idols’ latest achievement, stating that this year was incredibly amazing for their heroes and that the new achievement was also much deserved.

BTS’ achievement as well as that of BLACKPINK again suggests that music is a universal language, which has the power to unite people from different parts of the world regardless of language and culture.
